* Greenwich Park Hill – “Then & Now”

Posted on August 17, 2023 by Geoff Clements Posted in Historic Buildings, Parks & Public Squares, Quirky Topics .
As regular ‘London Shoes followers will know – I love a bit of the old “Then & Now” photographs…..
THEN:-
  • A 1953 view from the top of Greenwich Park hill – looking down on the Queens House/The Royal Naval College, and beyond……

NOW:-
  • Some 70yrs later in 2023 – the very same view……….👁👁
And that’s it – a very short & sweet posting – but quite poignant  I think

I wonder how many of those “New Build” will still be there in 70 years time……I know the Queens House etc will be!

Worked in Greenwich during time Dog Island started to rise. And very quickly. My friend worked for a company quickly soundproofing IOD residents flats & houses ahead of the devastating big build

Great comparison, there’s been something similar on the Londonist recently but yours is more stark

I often think new buildings spoil the landscape but I have to say these look amazing together
